Capt. Antonio M. Padrón y Santiago, “IMO Maritime Ambassador” and Maritime Authority of Tenerife, held a meeting with representatives of CEIMARPE and the Korea Maritime Institute (KMI), who expressed their support for the “Boarding Program for Maritime Cadets”

The Korea-Spain Fisheries Research and Cooperation Center (CEIMARPE) is the Spanish branch of the Korea Maritime Institute (KMI).

The meeting was attended by Dr. Han Deuk Hoon, Director of CEIMARPE in Spain and Mr. Manuel Vidal, Advisor of the KMI.

KMI is a research institute that is sponsored by the Korean government and its main goal is to pursue development and innovation in order to establish new policies in the fields of marine affairs, fisheries, shipping and ports which will contribute to the economic growth.

KMI has carried out training and exchange programs with several countries, conducting and hosting a variety of seminars and conferences in order to have better communication and interaction with the different maritime and port communities.
