Yemeni port status update – 3 February 2017
Friday, February 3, 2017, Yemen
In anticipation of the escalation of military operations in Hodeidah, the Yemeni Minister of Transport has stated to the press that preparations are underway at the Port of Aden to receive aid ships in case Hodeidah port is closed for security reasons.

Following the targeting of a Saudi frigate off Hodeidah by Houthi rebels on Monday (30 January), the Saudi-led coalition intensified their air raid against rebels’ sites in and around Hodeidah. The port, however, is still functioning despite this development.
