In anticipation of the escalation of military operations in Hodeidah, the Yemeni Minister of Transport has stated to the press that preparations are underway at the Port of Aden to receive aid ships in case Hodeidah port is closed for security reasons.
Following the targeting of a Saudi frigate off Hodeidah by Houthi rebels on Monday (30 January), the Saudi-led coalition intensified their air raid against rebels’ sites in and around Hodeidah. Lock chamber closure |

The Kiel Canal Authority has announced that one big new lock chamber at Kiel Locks will be closed from 0800 to 1200 hours local time on Tuesday 7 February, due to maintenance works. During this time only one big lock chamber will be in operation.
