Swimming races off the waters of the promenade of Harbour Grand Kowloon and the Tai Wan Shan swimming pool will take place from 1000 hours to 1200 hours on Saturday 11 February 2017. About 500 swimmers, under the surveillance of canoes, are expected to participate in the races. Launches of the Marine Department and Marine Police will be stationed or patrolling in the vicinity before and during the event. Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of all vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and give a wide berth to the swimmers, and follow the directions given by officers on Marine Department and Marine Police launches regulating marine traffic in the vicinity. In case of inclement weather, the races will be postponed to Sunday 19 February 2017. All operations at Jeddah Port were stopped due to heavy winds at 1500 hours local time today (8 February).
