Reclamation work at Tuas View
Tuesday, April 25, 2017, Singapore
The working period and working area for reclamation work at Tuas View, off Temasek Fairway, have been extended. The work will now be conducted from 1 May to 31 Oct 2017.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.61 of 2017, the work will be carried out 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

3) 01 deg. 15.543’N / 103 deg. 38.709’E

The reclamation work involves the caisson installation, rock mound works, removal of existing stone shore protection, dredging and underwater blasting at basin and sand key trench. Safety boats will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear of the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and to navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.

Mooring/unmooring of vessels at Tuas Finger One Project Area

The working period for reclamation work at Tuas View, off Temasek Fairway, has been extended to the period 1 May to 31 October.

During this period, bulk carriers, self-propelled barges and pusher tugs with barges in composite unit carrying bulk sand will be transiting the Temasek Fairway to the Tuas Finger One reclamation project area. All vessels shall maintain a proper lookout; proceed at a safe speed and to navigate with caution when in the vicinity of the mooring buoys off the eastern part of Tuas View Extension.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.62 of 2017, mooring buoys “HSPBV-MB1”, “HSPBV-MB1A”, “HSPBV-MB2”, “HSPBV-MB2A”, “HSPBV-MB3” and ‘HSPBV-MB3A’ at Tuas Finger One Project Area will be used by the bulk carriers. The mooring buoys will be removed upon completion of the reclamation works:

Dredging in Temasek Fairway

Dredging is underway in the Temasek Fairway and will continue until 30 May.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.64 of 2017, the works are being carried out 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 1 deg. 15.061’N / 103 deg. 38.887’E
2) 1 deg. 15.140’N / 103 deg. 39.079’E
3) 1 deg. 14.613’N / 103 deg. 39.292’E
4) 1 deg. 14.548’N / 103 deg. 39.133’E

Dredging works will be carried out by grab dredger, supported by hopper barges and pusher tugs. The grab dredger will be held in position by spuds- systems within the working area.

The safety zone is a circular area of 100m radius centred at the dredger. Safety boats will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear of the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and to navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.

Seawall opening & submarine cable diversion works

The working period has been extended for seawall opening and submarine diversion works in Ayer Merbau Basin. The work is now being carried out from today (25 April) to 22 October.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.66 of 2017, the works are being conducted between 0700 and 1900 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working areas bounded by the following co-ordinates:

The seawall opening and submarine cable diversion works will be carried out by crane barges and assisted by tugs and work barges. Working sequence will be one area at a time. Divers will also be deployed for underwater cutting work.

Safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity of the working area to warn other vessels of the work.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working areas, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear of the working areas;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and to navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (Sinki Control);
and
e) Communicate with Sinki Control on VHF Channel 68 for assistance, if required.

Towage tariffs to increase

Towage operator Alfons Håkans has announced tariff increases for 2017 at the cruise ports of Kotka, Helsinki, Hanko, Rauma and Pori.

The new tariff will be applicable from 1 May through to 30 November 2017.

At the main cruise port, Helsinki, the announced increase is 7.1 %.
