Collision off Bosphorus
Thursday, April 27, 2017, Turkish Straits, Turkey
At 11.45 hours local time today, a Togo-flagged vessel and a Russian Navy Vessel collided 17 miles of Bosphorus, due to fog and low visibility.

As per the latest information received, the navy vessel is reported to be sinking and a coastal safety tug is providing assistance. Evacuation is underway and 78 persons (to be confirmed) have been saved.

UPDATE – 17.20 hours local time: The navy vessels sank after the collision. All crew onboard were rescued. The Togo-flagged vessel was directed to procced at Buyukdere roads (anchorage) for further investigation.
