Glander International Bunkering, a leading marine fuel and lubricant trading firm, has today announced three key internal promotions in its Dubai office. Morten Langthjem, the former Sales Manager will take on a new role as Managing Director and Alex Margaritis, former Team Leader & Senior Bunker/Lubricant Trader will take over Langthjem’s former position as Sales Manager. Hernan Ortiz will be appointed to a newly created role as Business Development Manager.
“All three of the newly appointed candidates have played a critical role in guiding Glander International Bunkering DMCC through pivotal points in the office’s history. As the group continues to expand its relationships regionally and internationally, we require the correct leadership and expertise in place to help us navigate and continue to thrive in an ever-changing marketplace,” denotes Carsten Ladekjaer, Group CEO.
Langthjem joined the company in 2014 as Sales Manager, previously working as Trading Manager for a Bunker supplier in Gibraltar. He has 25 years’ experience in the shipping and bunkering industry, gaining experience from living and working in various locations in; Denmark, Piraeus, Gibraltar, and the UAE.
Margaritis has been with the company for seven years, working in his role as Team Leader & Senior Bunker/Lubricant Trader. He joined the company in 2011 and his progression through the group to Sales Manager is the next challenge in his career. His experience spans over 12 years, with his skillset having been developed across Singapore, Greece, and UAE.
Ortiz will move into the role of Business Development Manager after an outstandingly successful eight years trading for the company. He has over 27 years’ experience in the industry and a portfolio of varying roles, ranging from Shipowner, Agent, Physical Supplier, Trader, and Broker. Due to the specialised requirements of the group’s current and future clients, the prerequisite for a Business Development Manager with extensive expertise such as Hernan’s, has been the natural direction.
