High winds halt port activity |
Tuesday, November 21, 2017, Jeddah & Yanbu, Saudi Arabia |
Marine movement at Jeddah port was stopped at 0810 hours local time today (21 November), due to high and unstable winds of up to 43 knots. They were resumed at 10.55 hours.
All terminal operations (vessel, yard & gate) were also halted at 0900 hours due to the high wind speed and poor visibility. Meanwhile, Yanbu Port was closed at 21.25 hours last night (20 November) due to heavy rain and high winds. The rain is no longer an issue but the winds are continuing. The port re-opened at 0830 hours this morning. For further details and information about operations in Jeddah and Yanbu contact GAC Saudi Arabia at jeddah@gac.com and yanbu@gac.com |
