Around the Island Rowing Boat Race and Canoe Races |

A rowing boat race and canoe races will take place around Hong Kong Island on 26 November 2017 (Sunday). About 31 rowing boats and 30 canoes are expected to participate in the races. The rowing boat race will start from 0700 to 0800 hours in front of the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter. The boats will sail around Hong Kong Island in a clockwise direction, and finish the race off the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter by 1800 hours. The canoe races will start from 0700 to 0800 hours and from 1300 to 1400 hours at the south of Middle Island in a clockwise direction around Hong Kong Island, and finish in the vicinity of Middle Island by 1800 hours. Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels navigating in the vicinity of the race routes should proceed with caution, giving practical consideration to the contestants. Compliance with the provisions of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 is mandatory. Operations at King Abdul Aziz Port (Dammam) suspended due to strong wind since 0700 hours local time today (23 November).
