Okskaya Sudoverf Shipyard (OKA Shipyard, part of UCL Holding) on 19 April 2018 launched the lead non-self-propelled tank barge of Project ROB20 “Belmax 1”, being built for PAO STLC.
The barge launching ceremony was attended by the customer representatives, Navashino district authorities, business partners and personnel of Okskaya Sudoverf as well as Navashino citizens.
Ms Natalya Masterova, Chief Manager of the Directorate for Marine and River Transport, PAO STLC, acted as Ship Sponsor of the Belmax 1.
A series of ten vessels is being built for Saint-Petersburg based company Paula Rise under a leasing contract with State Transport Leasing Company as a customer.
The barge of Project ROB20 was designed by Marine Engineering Bureau.
In his keynote speech, Vladimir Kulikov, Director General of Okskaya Sudoverf Shipyard, thanked the personnel of the shipyard for the work done and emphasized their high professionalism.

In many respects, the construction of ROB20 barges series is a breakthrough project for Okskaya Sudoverf. For the first time it has built a vessel of this breadth – 22.80 meters. The breadth of the barge caused implementation of a package of measures required for her construction and launching. The personnel of the company have got the things done successfully having confirmed their high professionalism once again”
Non-self-propelled tank barges of Project ROB20 are intended for transportation of petroleum products with a flashpoint of 610C and above. With their double sides and double bottoms the vessels feature an improved level of environmental friendliness. The barges will be operated on the Belaya, Kama and Volga rivers.
