Dredging in Temasek Fairway

The working period for dredging work in Temasek Fairway has been extended, and the working area revised.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.059 of 2018, the works are now being carried out 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1. 1 deg. 15.706’N / 103 deg. 38.851’E
2. 1 deg. 13.164’N / 103 deg. 39.876’E
3. 1 deg. 13.030’N / 103 deg. 39.515’E
4. 1 deg. 13.119’N / 103 deg. 39.481’E
5. 1 deg. 13.759’N / 103 deg. 39.500’E
6. 1 deg. 14.548’N / 103 deg. 39.133’E
7. 1 deg. 15.440’N / 103 deg. 38.709’E
8. 1 deg. 15.705’N / 103 deg. 38.709’E

Dredging works are being carried out by a grab dredger, supported by hopper barges and pusher tugs. The grab dredger is held in position by spuds-systems within the working area.

A safety boat is deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) keep well clear of the working area
b) maintain a proper lookout
c) proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution
d) maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control)
and
e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.

Docking/undocking halted

Marine operations at Dammam port were temporarily suspended due to strong winds at 0930 hours local time today (8 June).

For safety reasons, the port authority/marine department halted ships’ movements for docking /undocking during high wind speed. This may affect ships’ window and vessel performance.

Prohibition & restriction of vessels in demarcated areas
Friday, June 8, 2018, Singapore

The Port Master hereby prohibits all vessels from transiting, anchoring or remaining in the following demarcated areas for the period specified:
a. Selat Sengkir (from 10 Jun 2018, 0700hrs, to 13 Jun 2018, 2359hrs)
b. Keppel Harbour (from 10 Jun 2018, 0700hrs, to 13 Jun 2018, 2359hrs)
c. Cruise Bay (from 10 Jun 2018, 0700hrs, to 13 Jun 2018, 2359hrs)
d. Off Sentosa Coast (from 12 Jun 2018, 0001hrs, to 13 Jun 2018, 2359hrs)

The Port Master also restricts the movement of vessels in the following demarcated areas from 12 June 2018, 0001hrs, to 13 June 2018, 2359hrs, as follows:

Sisters Fairway and part of Western Anchorage
No vessels, except for approved regional ferries bound to and from the HarbourFront Regional Ferry Terminal, are allowed to transit the Sisters Fairway and part of Western Anchorage during this period.

Buran Channel
All vessels, except for approved regional ferries, transiting the Buran Channel are required to provide notification at least two hours prior to their transit to the Maritime Security Duty Officer, via telephone number +65 6594 5793. These vessels may be subjected to security checks by the Police Coast Guard, prior to their entry into the Buran Channel.
Master and agents are advised to take into account the prohibition and restriction in their planning and to avoid these areas as far as practicable.
