Installation of artificial reef

From 1 July to 31 December, works to install an artificial reef will be carried out at Sisters Island Marine Reserve.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.067 of 2018, the works will be conducted from 0800 to 1900 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1. 1 deg. 13.031’N / 103 deg. 49.868’E
2. 1 deg. 13.022’N / 103 deg. 49.890’E
3. 1 deg. 12.925’N / 103 deg. 49.880’E
4. 1 deg. 12.947’N / 103 deg. 49.824’E
The artificial reef will be installed with the assistance of a crane barge and divers. A navigational beacon will be established to warn mariners of the position of the artificial reef structure.
A safety boat will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) keep well clear and not enter the working area
b) maintain a proper lookout
c) proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution
d) maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (West Control)
and
e) communicate with West Control on VHF Channel 68 for assistance, if required.
