Welcoming the conference programme, Minister Vitorino said: “Portugal has a glorious maritime heritage but, if we are to meet today’s global challenges, we cannot live in the past. On behalf of the Portuguese Government, the Ministry of the Sea has plans for a comprehensive development of our entire maritime sector. These far-reaching initiatives are already transforming our ports and maritime services sector and making Portugal a very attractive location for global shipping.”

Llewellyn Bankes-Hughes, Director of Shipping Innovation, said: “This is a very exciting conference line-up and we are anticipating a high-level of debate from these hard-hitters as they pull no punches to get to the heart of today’s important industry considerations.”
