The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) clinched 13 points earlier on today and at 1,760 still remains safe. Geopolitics in tatters. John Faraclas’ mid-week brief recap:
The Capes’ BCI now stands at 3,515 – that’s 44 points plus; a bit of a contained rise given the last days triple-digit ones. We still advise all to be cautious.
Drops for the Panamaxes; the BPI lost 31 points and now reads 1,539 points…
“Gains” for the Supras’ BSI now at 1,036. That’s plus one point…
Minus two points for the Handies’ BHSI now at 547.
So all in all, except the contained rise in the Capesize tonnage, all other dry indices remained either falling or grounded. CAUTION CAUTION CAUTION!
The Wets once again with mixed feelings; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 768 – no change and 498 – minus two points respectively.
A falling WTI now at US$ 67.66 is good news… Let’s hope for a major drop for the benefit of the 90 centum of people on Planet Ocean!

At the other side of the Atlantic president Trump has his very personal way of running the Americans and the World at large…. China will get the wrath of and from all. Japan is watching in the background…mess in Zimbabwe…
