Falling BDI@1,554 creates uneasiness; wets upwards and stable…

John Faraclas

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) lost 24 points earlier on today raising eyebrows. Geopolitics continue to be dodgy… John Faraclas’ daily briefing:

The Capes’ BCI fall of 58 points brought the respective index down at 2,106 points; once again: CAUTION!

The  Panamaxes’ BPI managed to clinch three points and now stands at 1,796; not nice…

The Supras’ BSI lost another four points (like yesterday) and now reads 1,192…

Once again the Handies’ BHSI  on the up. Two points plus are two points plus and at  665 points it feels safe!

The Wets managed to stay up and stable; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at    947  and  600 – up 25 and same as per yesterday’s closing respectively.

The WTI as these lines are written stands at US$ 70.05 – it was a bit lower at US$ 69.70 but “managed” to go over the US$70 mark… CAUTION…

2020 will become an issue and we wish to see a pragmatic solution as there isn’t a practical time frame as well as the infrastructure and training for all stakeholders involved!

Shipping as we have numerous times stressed is changing becoming shipping for the very very very few. Add the fact that a bankrupt world economy is not a good sign and we foresee wars on top of the Trade Wars – which will escalate very soon…

The Geopolitics still dodgy and expect messy outcomes in the entire Middle East as well as in the Balkans…

The MIGRANTS still dominate the news… Shame… Saudi Arabia has to explain what happened with missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi…

The Wars and the respective situation in Syria and Iraq remains the same… CAUTION…

Turkey stirs-up the Eastern Mediterranean and things might turn sour for all; CAUTION!

The Balkans are also the focal point and restrain for all parties there is advised… particularly from president Erdogan and his Turks…

Hiccups in Greece with PM Tripras taking over the Ministry of Foreign Affairs following the resignation of Nikos Kotzias. Expect developments internally as well in Greece’s periphery. Many say it is about the USA moves in Greece safeguarding the West’s interests; time will tell…

Italy resists Brussels concerns…

BREXIT continues with more twists and turns but Mrs. May insists there is a solution!

That’s all for tonight, have a peaceful evening and remain on guard from actions emanating from Pirates, Terrorists and Criminals of any kind wherever you are on Planet Ocean…

P.S. Mind the Stock Markets…
