The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) lost 13 points earlier on today “THANKS” to the cursed Capes… Geopolitics continue to be more than messy. John Faraclas’ brief recap:
The Capes lost 72 points and the BCI now stands at 578 – it lost the 600 points threshold and things might get sour… CAUTION and business imagination is very mush needed…
The Panamaxes BPI gained ten points and now reads 649…
The Supras’ BSI continue to rise; 24 points plus and now at 649 points “makes waves”…
Ten points plus for the Handies’ BHSI now at 345 – and safe!
Both the Wets were up; minimal but plus! The last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 828 – plus nine and 607 – plus two points respectively…
Wonder what the analysts, gurus and the academics have to say about this state of the Markets… Forget the damn dams… The harsh reality is that we are entering a deep and steep recession… Let’s see how many will make it this time… Any views???

The Geopolitics per our yesterday’s coverage maintains a dangerous outlook… All issues from the MIGRANTS to the USA – China Trade War remain the same… BREXIT confirms how ugly politics could be. The two main parties loose MPs… we might see surprises… We are in a limbo! What though is interesting is that all sides insist to their points. The deadlock is here, possibly to stay, unless we see somehow a break through. For sure somebody called a fast one on both sides of the Channel! I can assure you though that very soon we will all know the culprits from both sides!
What bothers us most is the latest statistics for the MIGRANTS in the Greek East Aegean Islands: 43% are Afghanies, 12% Iraqis, only 9% from war-torn Syria (!!!), 9% Palestinians n, 6% from DR Congo and 21% from all over… 21% are women, 31% are children. 43% are aged between 18-39 years old. “Interesting” eh!! We need here and now a solution please… Mrs. Merkel: do you read us?
Financial banking scandals with hefty penalties was a good thing to see; UBS’s tax fraud case shook the EU foundations – and there are more to come from many more banks, wait and you will …NOT be surprised…!
