1st Prize of the drawing competition in the category of children 5-7 years old and special Education Schools
HELMEPA Junior members “dive into the ocean and discover…”
With the theme “I dive into the ocean and discover…” 2,521 children members of the HELMEPA Junior Program, from 78 Kindergartens and Elementary Schools in Greece, made 230 group drawings in which they captured the beauty of the sea, the treasures of the seafloor as well as the problem of pollution that threatens marine life and consequently man himself.
The competition was conducted separately into two age groups: 5-7 and 8-12 years old. The artworks were evaluated by a Committee, according to the Contest proclamation, as approved by the Ministry of Education. The selection was, by general agreement, extremely difficult as the paintings were competing in inspiration and originality. The Committee decided to award the following six (6) paintings:
Category 5-7 years old
First Prize: 14th Nikaia Kindergarten
2nd Prize: Korissia-island of Kea Kindergarten
3rd Prize: 13th Nikaia Kindergarten
Category: 8-12 years old
1st Prize: 1st Primary School of Heraklion, Attiki, 3rd Grade
2nd Prize: 4th Primary School of Alexandroupolis, 4th Grade
3rd prize: Primary School of Loutrochori, Pella, 5th and 6th Grades
The 1st Prize of each category is printed as a poster and will be distributed widely in Greece and abroad, while members of the 2nd and 3rd Prize Groups and their teachers will receive Commemorative Diplomas for their distinction.
HELMEPA warmly congratulates all the young artists for their imaginative creations, which remind us, among other things, that garbage, plastics and other litter, have no place in the oceans!
