The BDI@738: a good start for the market’s resurrection?

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) gained 12 points and now stands at 38; a good start for the market’s resurrection… Geopolitics still might produce upheavals in all fronts… John Faraclas’ daily recap:

The Capes’ BCI was up 27 points and now stands at 445!

The Panamaxes BPI at 1,092 – plus 19 points

Minimal gains but gains for the Supras’ BSI now at 714 plus three points.

The Handies’ BHSI as expected lost the 400 points threshold and now reads 399 – minus four…

The Wets with mixed feelings; last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 639 – plus five and 586 minus six points respectively.

So all in all a positive start and let’s hope the rise will continue; repeat let’s hope… we hate wishful thinking but… The parameters are not favourable given the geopolitical scene and the fact that Planet Ocean is totally BANKRUPT; can you write-off US$ 250 trillion, in other words the World’s Debt? meantime Wealth Inequality has risen; shake your heads!!!

The WTI as these line are being written was down a bit at US$ 63.22 (17:21 BST)…

The Geopolitics and its main issues remain the same:

The MIGRANTS still the number one issue now occupying the world’s headlines. Be it in East Med, o central and west Med or at the other side of the Atlantic, one thing remains to be solved: do the politicians understand the grave mistakes they continue to make? It’s them to blame for what all sides suffer – MIGRANTS and the citizens of all other counties having to deal with the MIGRANTS!

Europe still in turmoil with the BREXIT and a bit of a French “superiority”…

In the UK the BREXIT will bring up many surprises in all fronts…  Will there be Euro Elections? Knives are out for the leadership of the Conservative Party… Will it be a game of thrones? Already comments and statements are flying around; it’s gone to be a more than another drama here… CAUTION!

In Greece the election fever is on with the forthcoming European an Municipal elections; caution!

Hiccups in Germany were the ex CEO of VW, 71 year old Martin Winterkorn and four more managers have been charged  with the company’s diesel emission scandals. A major fraud!!! A lesson for all though…

The trade outlook it might ease a bit with the USA being a bit more lenient with China… Another great mess there…

Some demos in London and other European cities; …”Noah’s Arc” in pink appeared in Oxford Circus earlier on today with the climate change protesters bringing disruption to traffic. About 80 cities in 33 countries have been hit by these protests and looks like we are going to see an escalation…

In Algeria the new generation takes to the street demanding change…

Turkey wishes to upset the USA with the S-400 and the F-35… The attitude is very provocative and looks likely a major incident is about to happen…

The entire East Med, part of the faulty line Gib to Afghanistan and caucuses to the Horn of Africa is already on fire. Wonder what’s next in Libya… Did I hear you say Balkans? Turkey and Greece and Cyprus… with the energy issue at the fore…

Venezuela’s situ deteriorates dangerously…

That’s all for the time being; we will revert later if we with more important news. Until then have a nice evening and remain on guard from actions emanating by Pirates, Terrorists, Criminals and Business Hooligans whatsoever wherever you are on Planet Ocean… Happy Long fortnight Easter break!

Breaking News: we have just been advised that Notre-Dame de Paris, the famous Cathedral  and on of the World’s landmarks which stands in Paris for 850 years caught fire. Everybody talks of a disaster. The cause is not yet clear. Despite the immediate response of the firefighters the blaze engulfed the entire church  with the roof and the cathedrals spire collapsing.  We will keep you posted.
