The BDI@913… Cross your fingers
He Has Risen! This is the first wish to all following the end of this year’s long Easter fortnight. The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) ended up 24 points earlier on surpassing the 900 points threshold and let’s hope soon the 1,000! Geopolitics still perplexed and crucial. John Faraclas’ early recap:
You just read that we all hope that the BDI will go over and above the 1,000 points but now we need to see some improvement in all Dry Indices, as once again it was the Capes lifting the “Market” with a three digit rise. The BCI gained 101 points and now stands over and above the 800 points mark at 884. With the exemption of the Panamaxes’ BPI gaining juts thee points – and now reading 1,189, ALL, repeat all other indices were dropping.
The Supras’ BSI and the Handies’ BHSI both lost three points and now standing at 777 and 386 points respectively!
Mixed feeling for the Wets; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 640 – plus five and 584 – minus two points respectively!
The WTI was slightly up at US$ 63.5 from US$ 63.30 last Friday – Thirty cents are thirty cents; calculate to understand the burden for the public, particularly the poor ones comprising the 95 centum on Planet Ocean…

Remind you also that there are 3.2 mio EU citizens living in the United Kingdom!. Add the issue of EU’s students fees in the UK; what happens there? CAUTION !
As we mention all through our geopolitical news daily reporting, the faulty line from Gib to Afghanistan and from the Caucuses to the Horn of Africa with two main focal points the Balkans and East Med/Middle East continue to produce uncertainty. Nothing much happened in Berlin with the West Balkans issues – Serbia and Kosovo disputes and there are views still encouraged by politicians such as France’s president macron for change of frontiers something that Mrs. Merkel dislikes even to hear off… CAUTION as silly decisions can trigger a wider all out war which will spread beyond the region! Some people must lean and practice in these instances the KISS acronym’s usage!
European Elections to be held between 23 and 26th of May – possibly in the UK too if no BREXIT until then, are warming up. Let’s see the new political chart for the next five years – with or without the UK! One “good” thing that happened is that the EU mobile roaming charges have been scrapped!!
At the other side of the Atlantic we just heard that Tod Rosenstein, US Deputy Attorney General handed over his resignation to president Trump. Remind you that he was the one who appointed special counsel Robert Mueller as head for the investigation into allegations of Russian interference in the USA’s 2016 presidential elections. Let’s see when and how this saga ends… Meantime another mess against a Synagogue in San Diego, California with the suspect’s parents condemning their son!
