Marine soil investigation works at Sungei Jurong

From 21 May to 14 September, marine soil investigation works will be carried out at Sungei Jurong.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.043 of 2019 dated 17 May 2019, the work will be conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – at the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
ABH-108) 01 deg. 19·515’N / 103 deg. 44·002’E
ABH-109) 01 deg. 19·498’N / 103 deg. 44·015’E
Soil investigation works will be carried out by means of marine drilling using a jack-up barge. Safety boats will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.
Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 25 (Pasir Panjang Control);
and
e) Communicate with Pasir Panjang Control on VHF Channel 25 for assistance, if required.

Waiting times up to 10 hours

Waiting times of up to 10 hours were being experienced by vessels transiting the Kiel Canal this afternoon (20 May), according to the announcement by the Canal authority. The waiting time at Brunsbüttel was up to 3 hours.
