The BDI@1,062 BDI amid growing global turmoil

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) lost another 18 points and now stands at 1,062; Geopolitics as expected here are more than perplexed and our prolonged warning –  even yesterday’s call come unfortunately verbatim right! John Faraclas brief recap:

The Capes BCI lost 28 points and now reads 1,7158

A dozen points lost from the Panamaxes’ BPI now standing at 1,137!

Controlled losses for the  Supras’ BSI  now at 710  – minus two…

Only the Handies’ BHSI managed to be on the safe side by clinching three points and now at 419 can breathe…

Both Wets on a falling mode; last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans)  stood at 653 – minus one and 499 – minus eight points respectively…

The WTI gained a bit and now stands at US$ 52.28… Let’s see how it gets…

Geopolitics following the unprecedented attack on two tankers earlier this morning turn sour… Expect more trouble soon in a multiple way and a spread…

We haven’t seen for quite a while such an orchestrated so to speak response from almost all sides of the equation…

Time is of essence

On another tone and note what a great event that was today at the Yacht Club of Greece! Organised by Newsfront / Naftiliaki under the auspices of the European Shortsea Network, The Shortsea Shipping Days 2019 debut in Greece was on all counts a super event. Never seen Natasha Vassilaki feeling so content! Titled Shortsea: Challenges ahead it attracted over 300 delegates, covered almost all issues and left its …footprint for next time round. Excellent welcome speeches, interesting sessions – five ultra challenging ones with all stakeholders duly represented from all sides of the equation and George Alexandratos on a great day in his role as conference chairman. Smiling faces from all members of the HSSSA, particularly from its president Babis Simantonis and Elpida J. Petrakis. The media were there in full force!

Well done Antoine Kedrierski; your keynote speech was food for thought! Well done and congrats to all. The only hiccup being the time as the conference chairman kept it alike the tide…

We will revert with a full write up soon!

Ensure you don’t miss the Pireas 2019 Global Symposium on the 20th and 21st of June with the much awaited 7th Global Shipbrokers Forum at the Yacht Club of Greece (20 June) and its Dinner the second day at the Metropolitan Expo at Spata – Athens. Many issues to be aired and challenged!

The week after between the 27th and 30th of June the unique Spetses Classic Yacht Regatta organised by the YCG and supported by the Poseidonion Grand Hotel – the jewel of the Belle Epoque! Staged to the amazing backdrop of the hotel and the Argosaronic Gulf, a series of classic yachts (Classic Boats, Traditional Caiques, Traditional Lateens, Dragons) form an exquisite parade, with crews from Greece and around the world is a Regatta not to be missed. AND, and don’t miss the Chryssa Delaporta exhibition of  paintings – floating objects of desire with her unique technotropy at Poseidonion – like last time round!!

We urge you to remain on guard from actions and further actions emanating from Pirates, Terrorists, Criminals and Business Hooligans whatsoever wherever you are on Planet Ocean…
