The BDI down – yet again @1,868: a midsummer’s tempest…?

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) lost 31 points earlier on today and now stands at 1,868… The Geopolitics continue not just to be enigmatically perplexed or getting worse, the will soon produce simultaneously too many issues detrimental to all all over Planet Ocean. John Faraclas’ brief daily recap:

The  Capes fell two with the BCI now standing at 3,657 – down seven points…

The Panamaxes fall was more or less in the same levels as yesterday with the BPI down 78 points and now standing at 1,891 losing the 1,900 point threshold…

Losses for the Supras’ BSI now at 982 – minus six points…

Steady as she goes for the Handies’ BHSI grounded at 516 points.

A bit of a mixed feelings for the Wets; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 621 – minus three and 456 plus one points respectively…

The WTI was up 53 cents since yesterday and now reads US$ 58.58!

The Geopolitics as mentioned in the preamble continue to deteriorate in all fronts and the inevitable will soon “join” us! Brace for the coming Armageddon-style developments… Planet Ocean will soon become like a vessel without steering gear; remember this when the shit will hit the fan. You ae being once again warned!

Add also the “famous” infamous World Debt of US$ 250 (twohundredandfifty) trillion dollars and see what you get…

The MIGRANTS still maintain the top position in both hemispheres; what a shame! Even over here in the UK there are voices – in writing proposing to grant amnesty to 500,000 illegal immigrants. Wonder though how in the first place they managed to get in… For the same issue don’t ask how they make it to Greece, even now to the Geek mainland, Alexandropoulis, Western Peloponnese, not just to the Aegean Greek Islands, Italy, Spain and Malta… what a mess as a result of which the social cohesion everywhere has been undermined! Is it so difficult to place a Naval Blockade all over the Med and Black Sea to prohibit MIGRANTS coming over to the EU?? We repeat our position: A Naval Blockade with a Mandate and Rules of Engagement… That’s the only way out. Wonder why same is not “feasible” from the USA, NATO and the EU!!!

At the same time we see differences in creating a security naval force at the Straits of Hormuz and we hear that Germany is not favouring same; shame! We need per mare per terra such a force as the situ might go off hand and we don’t wish to see casualties to our seafarers! Wake up!

Still messy situation in the faulty region from Gib to Afghanistan and from the Caucuses down to the Horn of Africa with two main focal points; the Balkans and the entire East Med/Middle East were Turkey causes harm to all and the USA and the European Union AND ABOVE ALL NATO must choose what one does with Turkey, the new pariah state on Planet Ocean! Pestering and bullying Greece, Cyprus, Syria and Iraq as well as the Kurds; trying to destabilise the Balkans and more importantly Erdogan’s regime degrading Turkish people… It’s not now that the S-400 and the F-35 affair appears; there are many issues boiling up following the Cyprus invasion in 1974… With the energy issues at its highest level curbing the appetite of the Turks will safeguard Global Peace, yes Global peace and not just regional Peace.

The entire European Union is in a mess… Italy faced with financial problems and its national debt one way or another must be settled as it will be ten times the big bang of neighbouring Greece… CAUTION!

BREXIT as per our initial articles in 20115 and 2016 will turn Planet Ocean upside down, not just the United Kingdom and the mighty Continent! The current British PM Boris Johnson has to think twice before saying or doing anything from now on as things are more than crucial for the unity of the United Kingdom and the unnecessary recession that might follow a non-Brexit deal. Ultra CAUTION should be observed as neither the UK nor the EU are ready for any deal whatsoever!! Both sides of the Channel  (the politicians) must learn from the principal of KISS. The Pound hit its lowest level in 30 months!!! House prices have lost 15 centum at least… The British tourists abroad will have a problem…

At the other side of the Atlantic, in the  USA,  thing are heating up with the 2020 elections as well as with the Democratic party’s deliberations…. CAUTION!

Big mess in Brazile vis-a-vis the situation in Braziulian jails… CAUTION

The Trade War between the USA and China continues with immense ferocity; this is what the rest of the media don’t tell you…  Your also going to witness one with many European nations within the EU and outside with the USA

North Korea continues to play with fire following more ballistic missile tests…

Nearby in Hong Kong things are getting sour… Let’s see what’s next there…

In Africa watch out the new Ebola crisis…

In Australia the impact of the Hong Kong demos affects the Chinese and Hong Kong students… CAUTION!

More news tomorrow…

Mind the heatwave already on; July was one of the hottest month in history with record breaking temps in the UK and EU. Add the wild fires raging in many countries including Russia and see what you get!

On another tone and note we attended two more events: a business meeting to organise the LISW2019 from September 9-13, …et al events (as we say) and a charity get-together at the Hellenic Centre.

LISW2019 will attract a great number of visitors from all over Planet Ocean and looks likely to be the biggest and most important event in the British capital before BREXIT… With our supporter, the up and coming glass artist Kira Phoenix K’inan, we set a preliminary plan – to be developed further for the many events we have to attend and ensuring we cover all if not most of them – a very demanding week. Kira besides being the creator of glass objects of desire, including environmental pieces in an era when and where the question of environmental sustainability plays the most important role, is also a great photographer and painter.  The environment was the motivator for Kira to become interested in Shipping! Our meeting in Notting Hill’s place of reference where many of our outdoors meetings take place over the last eight years, the 202 at Westbourne Grove, offered us the much needed tranquillity under its tent for excellent planning over a lemonade – those special ones they make for inspiration and the special iced coffee frappe,  so that we are not jealous of those down in Greece… 202 offers the chance for artists to promote themselves of any kind of art whether photography, paintings, antiques, you name it… recommended for lively fashion too downstairs… so watch this space…

The second event, a charity special in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, took place at the bar and inner balcony of London’s Hellenic Centre.

This was a wine tasting meticulously organised by Christina Vagioti and was well attended despite being a midweek summer event! Over thirty attended. Five wines, Greek and Spanish – three reds and two whites. Excellent dips and a great variety of cheese complemented her efforts as well as all of us trying to guess and match up the brands… Congrats to all who supported the event AND, yes, AND there is a continuation:

..from the kick start of the wine tasting

You may have heard by now of my “6 days – 6 nights in the desert of Jordan, 100 km in difficult conditions, a challenging trek raising nearly £4,000 for Macmillan” little speech. This is what this evening was all about.  The previous sentence refers to none other than Christina Vagioti! We will follow up… Excellent!

Have have a nice evening and remain on guard from actions emanating by Pirates, Terrorists, Criminals and Business Hooligans whatsoever wherever you are on Planet Ocean…
