ICS Professional Maritime Programme – New Groups

The Hellenic Management Centre, official educational provider of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers in Greece, offers the ICS Professional Maritime Programme; a 1-year Course which has been designed to meet the international shipping industry’s needs.

Taught by shipping professionals, it provides the participants with an excellent basis for career development and immediate implementation to the working environment. Through the Course, participants sit for the ICS Professional Qualifying Examinations, which lead to ICS Membership, the only internationally recognized professional qualification within the shipping sector.

Programme Structure

The Programme consists of seven (7) modules, taught over two academic semesters.

1st SEMESTER

The first semester introduces candidates to four (4) compulsory modules, giving a comprehensive overview of the shipping business.

2nd SEMESTER

At the second semester candidates choose three (3) optional modules from the list below, in order to gain an in-depth and specialized knowledge in the field of their interest.

Who should attend

Shipping Professionals – shipbrokers, operators, charterers, maritime lawyers, agents, finance executives, etc – who wish to upgrade their theoretical and practical background and certify their expertise.
Officers of the Merchant Marine – willing to enhance their sea-going experience and practice with commercial knowledge.
Graduates and Professionals of other studies/sectors – i.e. finance, management, business administration, law, engineering, etc-, who wish to enter into the shipping industry.

Duration/Teaching Hours
The duration is one academic year (September to May) and classes take place twice per week during evening hours (19:00-21:30).

Teaching Faculty
All Lecturers are distinguished maritime professionals, experts at the field of their practice, Members of the Instituted of Chartered Shipbrokers and accredited tutors.

Exemptions
Candidates with relevant professional or educational qualifications may apply for exemptions to a maximum of three (3) modules.
