Khaite Sees Global Trends Through a NYC Lens
by Elena Sendona
The Khaite collection is a mix of sleek on-trend pieces reinterpreted with NYC aesthetics. Founded in 2016 by creative director Catherine Holstein, the NY-based brand is building upon a foundation of robust yet polished items distinguished by exceptional materials and subtle yet striking details.
The collection (pronounced “Kate”) takes its name from the Greek word (χαίτη) meaning “long, flowing hair.” If you are planning to wear cool pieces to the NYFW or for the FW19 season in general, you will surely find here all you need: the blazer & shorts suits, the knit dresses, the billowy sleeves, the polka dot tulles, the checks, and the zebra motif boots.
Nicole Richie was recently spotted in London wearing one of their bodysuits and street style icon Pernille Teisbaek posted herself in one of their trenchcoats. For Resort 2020, the brand did also a collaboration with Lauren Santo Domingo, available to preorder online from Moda Operandi. We are so excited for the brand’s upcoming SS20 show at the NYFW! It’s gonna be next level!
