Damen and VSTEP join forces to establish simulation research laboratory

VSTEP is ending this year on a high note with the official collaboration with Damen Shipyards Group. Both companies have joined forces to establish a  unique laboratory to explore innovative simulation solutions. The goal of this partnership is to develop software that will extend NAUTIS maritime solution into engineering applications and so open up new research and development possibilities for Damen’s numerous R&D programmes. VSTEP team is looking forward to seeing how simulation can pave new ways to digitizing the industry.

Chevron Shipping upgrades Simulator Hub with VSTEP’s integrated solutions
One of the main highlights of the year is the agreement with Chevron Shipping to upgrade their training facilities with new NAUTIS setups with the integration of the Response Simulator solution. With global passenger numbers increasing every year, the need for increased safety measures is becoming more apparent. VSTEP is proud to partner with one of the most technically advanced airports in the world to support their continuously improving training.

NAUTIS Home Development

In October, we officially announced the development of NAUTIS Home, the successor of the Ship Simulator series. This next-generation product aims to make realistic simulation accessible to maritime enthusiasts everywhere.
Through extensive research and early prototype testing, we are getting closer to defining the product that would fulfill the wishes of all the users out there. Planned to be released in 2020, this ambitious project is an exciting challenge that the whole VSTEP team is ready to embrace.
