Bush fires impacting port operations

Operations at the port of Eden have been affected by the major bush fires threatening the area.

The visits of two passenger ships, originally scheduled for 3 & 7 January, were cancelled. Further, woodchip stock piles at the woodchip mill plus the logs for export are reported to be on fire.

LGUs instructed to stop collecting fees

The Philippine Port Authorities (PPA) have instructed Local Government Units (LGUs) to cease imposing and collecting entrance and other fees at ports under PPA jurisdiction.
