The Markets fall whilst Geopolitics get worse, but Ravi Mehrotras’ Winter BBQ brings a ray of hope

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) fell both on a daily as well as on a weekly basis and the Markets turn to become as we have said many times before: Markets for the vey very few. The geopolitical spectrum is being completely influenced by the powerful ones in the most undemocratic and anti-Peace way never ever before being witnessed. Amid this messy environment a ray of hope come out at tonight’s chilly night at Ravi Mehrotras 26th Winter BBQ! John Faraclas repots:

With minus 14 points since yesterday the BDI now stands at 754 points which is also 20 points down since last week’s (10 Jan 2020) 774 points…

The main looser and creator of this fall remains the volatile Capes as well as the bunkering issue, I mean the IMO2020 saga if I may called it in this way…

The Capes’ BCI was down 72 points to 712 on the day and 354 on a weekly basis – from 1,066 on the 10 Jan 2020. Ultra caution should be observes as if the BCI goes on a triple fall next Monday things will get sour…

The Panamaxes’ BPI was the only size with a positive/upwards course; the daily gains were 11 points and now stands at 870. On a weekly basis it nearly gained 100 points!!! 99 to be precise from 771…

One point plus for the Supras’ BSI now at 560 and ten points down on a weekly basis – from 570 on the 10 Jan 2020.

The Handies’ BHSI was down at 379 – minus four and on a weekly basis same was down 29 points; from 408 last week losing the 400 points threshold…

So all in all and falling Dry Market and wonder the repercussions…

The Wets followed suite; the last published BDTI and BCTI (Cleans)  stood at 1,241 –minus 64  losing the 1,300 points threshold and 710 – minus ten points respectively. On a weekly basis the Dirties lost 232 points – from 1,473 and the Cleans lost 91 points – from 801.

Again with the Wets falling too the picture is more blur than anticipated from bokes and analysts. CAUTION!!!

The WTI was up a bit – just six cents since yesterday to US$ 58.58; last week (10 Jan 2020) same stood at US$ 59.04!!! That’s a bit of “good news”.

The Geopolitical mess continues and wonder why the politicians and their cronies lead Planet Ocean to this despicable mess in all fonts and regions.

MIGRANTS lead this despicable mess and expect asymmetrical responses in Europe – Greece in particular and soon in the USA / Mexican border…

The forthcoming summit in Berlin on the Libyan mess without Greece and Tunisia looks likely to fail in the long run – just to be optimistic… Until the summer, when a new summit will be needed the shit will hit the fan…

BREXIT and MEGXIT keep the heat up in the United Kingdom and Europe – not to mention the World at large…

Wonder how USA president Trump will tackle his opponents… Expect surprises…

More news later on…

Andreas A. Tsavliris, GIWA founder Sofia Konstantopoulou and Mrs Margarita Mavromichalis, the Greek Ambassador’s wife

On another tone and note two events took place earlier on tonight:

The GIWA (Greek International Women Award) at the Greek Ambassador’s residence with founder Sofia Konstantopoulou and her team on a great day!

Great support from the Greek Ambassador’s wife and world acclaimed photographer Margarita  Mavromicahlis. The event this time, an event empowering Women, follows the WISTA and IMO year of Empowering Women!!!

Will revert with a full report and many more pictures…

Host Ravi Mehrotra speaking to his guests

The 26th Winter BBQ was more than a successful event with the Mehrotras, Ravi and Manju and their Foresight Group in full …swing keeping their 400 plus guests in a more than jovial post-Christmas mood.

A more than excellent event with many ministers attending; will revert, as always, with a full write up, but its worth to mention the positive results of his group and in particular that of his drilling business. It was good to hear some good news!!!

That’s all for tonight, have a nice weekend and remain on guard from actions emanating from Pirates, Terrorists, Criminals and any Business Hooligan whatsoever wherever you are on Planet Ocean!
