Your Transformation Update from Fathom World

From Graig Eason:

Hello,
I often hear that shipping has an image problem, that its value is underrated, and ships are quickly forgotten as they vanish over the horizon. A return to, or rather a move towards a new age of sail could help counter that.
The projected wingsail height of the Wallenius Marine wPCC is about 80m, which with the huge vessel freeboard means its tips will be around 100m above the waterline. The tallest of the tall ships in that golden era of sail was around 60m, while if you go to Greenwich in London you will see the magnificent mast and spars of the Cutty Sark standing at a mere 47 m. A vessel with a wingsail standing 100m above the waterline will easily be seen as it comes over the horizon.
While there are a lot of advantages to using sail (or wings or rotors or kites) to transition to a decarbonised world, there is no doubt that the visual impact will demonstrate to anyone that this is an industry that is transforming.
That’s why I publish this newsletter and try and highlight the changes that are happening, even if they may seem somewhat over the horizon. This is also why I ask if you can spread the word and ask colleagues and associates to go to Fathom.World and also subscribe to this newsletter so they can be part of the change. Feedback is also good -it helps me improve our service.
Hope you have a good week,
Craig
