Uncertain Market Variations amid Geopolitical Tensions – and COVID-19, under the Full Moon’s positive “influence” …in AKSS Spetses
The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) was up 35 points since last Friday the 31s of July and now stands at 1,385 – “all” thanks to the Capes and Panamaxes… Wets grounded and Geopolitics as we have warned you all along, will surprise you. The AKSS Foundation and other local events in Spetses, beyond success! John Faraclas’ daily brief recap:
The Capes’ BCI was up at 2,297 – plus 91 points..
The Panamaxes’ BPI up 27 at 1,254 !!
Both Supras and Handies fell; the BSI down nine at 862 and the BHSI down two at 472 points respectively.
The Wets grounded; no change since last Friday – 506 and 356 points respectively…
The WTI up a bit at US$ 40.76 – from US$ 40.44 on 31/07… CAUTION.
Geopolitics got worse since last Friday with the same issues which, coupled with the Coronavirus anathema – are spreading slowly but steadily and will create havoc!!! CAUTION !!

- a)The Colours of love – uniquely written by Manos Chatzidakis, exceptionally performed by piano soloist Mimi Roufogalis and singer Eftyhia Moschakis. Part of the …triple event tonight at AKSS Foundation’s grounds in the Island of Spetses, Greece. Full Moon at its best with this song – “Little Red Moon”, and others too, “The Moon is Red”. Nikolas’ exceptional sculptures had their Day too!

Congratulations to the Anargyrios and Korgialenios School of Spetses Foundation Executive Committee under the direction of its Secretary-General Ms Elina Papatheodorou, who is responsible in organising and running all the events, continuing to excel – on some occasions even giving solutions to last minutes hiccups!! The crowds being present, an evidence of her success as well as that of her team. Both our Man in Habana and our Lady in Oxford fully responded so we …were there too… and conversely have our say.. Watch this space!
Lastly,once again, the Full Moon’s “alignment” was more than welcomed greatly contributing to this double event!!

b)As per our last Friday’s announcement, the presentation of the book “Whatever we gave her” at the Museum of Spetses did more than well!!! The book dealt with the dowry, a more than an important element of life and culture particularly in Greece and its islands. The author Kalomira Arghyriou- Koumbi covered more or less everything and evidently she has done a great research. The inheritance customs, the dress, the material status of women, as well as all items for the household… the author took us back in the 19th century, possibly the most important century of all.. Vassilis Bakiras, a philologist, and Irene Tekides, an archaeologist, greatly contributed to this presentation. A great Sunday evening to remember – event was held yesterday. Well done!

Have a nice evening but continue to remain on guard from actions emanating from Pirates, Terrorists, Criminals and any Business Hooligans whatsoever wherever you are on Planet Ocean. Once again a big THANK YOU to all who really care for all humans – Doctors, Nurses, Seafarers, Dockers, Port Authorities et al during this Coronavirus disaster!! We repeat: Do please invest in Hospitals including Equipment, Doctors, Nurses and any useful means to avoid further disasters! Become more disciplined and care for the Environment too. Lastly: Education and Training for all to be able to tackle these disasters. Let’s work collectively together and NOT opt for a fistful of Dollars to restart the already collapsed global economy… which is in red US$ 260 (twohundredandsixty) trillion… Hope all of you all over Planet Ocean enjoyed the Full Moon!!
