Islamic New Year holiday

The Government of Oman has declared 23 August as a public holiday to celebrate ‘Al Hijri Islamic New Year’. Port and terminals will remain open and 50% overtime charges will apply for all services. GAC Sohar office will be closed during the holiday weekend, with a skeleton staff attending to operational and urgent matters. Normal office hours will resume on 24 August.
