Midweek Market and Geopolitics blues
The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) fell further and now stands at 1,224 points. The Wets still on downwards mode too. No white smoke yet for the White House… Lock downs ante ports as Coronavirus spreads. John Faraclas’ brief midweek recap:
With minus 39 points since yesterday, the BDI@1,224 struggles and hopes to contain the fall are minimal as Capes, the most volatile of all Dry Indices play games… but…
The Capes’ BCI lost 91 points and now reads 1,771 losing also the 1,800 points threshold…
The Panamaxes’ BPI fell down to 1,231 – down 19 points…
Minus ten points for the Supras’ BSI now at 922…
Minus two points for the Handies’ BHSI now at 586…
Wets still low and falling further; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 405 – no change and 309 – minus four points respectively…
All in all a low Market both for the Wets and Dries which might fall further… unless trade flourishes post USA’s elections despite Covid’s mess… Strange days ahead.
The WTI stood at US$ 39.04, the highest over the last seven trading days… but same might fall…
Geopolitics still having the MIGRANTS as the number one issue, despite how his issue is being “administered” by the media and the moron politicians. Check the news from all over Planet Ocean!
The Turks continue to jeopardise everything in a region of 1,500 miles all around Turkish borders provoking European leaders and institutions, needless to say, violating EU’s territory. CAUTION as the end is nigh!!!
BREXIT: an issue one must pay attention…
EU’s unity and coherent policy remains in tatters…
At the other side of the Atlantic we still have an inconclusive situation. Democrats with Biden lead the race but still, president Trump and his Republicans can change the scene through a Deus ex Machina way. CAUTION as America is divided and this will have effects in USA’s domestic and Foreign Policy no matter the winner…
China continues to cause headaches to all.
All other issues we refer to over the last six months, remain more or less the same…
Coronavirus spreads and Lockdowns are ante portas…
Bonfire Night tonight marking the anniversary when in 1605, the Catholic conspirators tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London. Originally known as Guy Fawkes Night… this year will be celebrated at homes – lucky those with big gardens.
Have a nice evening and ensure you continue to remain on guard from actions emanating from Pirates, Terrorists, Criminals and any Business Hooligans whatsoever wherever you are on Planet Ocean. Once again a big THANK YOU to all who really care for all humans – Doctors, Nurses, Seafarers, Dockers, Port Authorities et al during this Coronavirus disaster!! We repeat: Do please invest in Hospitals including Equipment, Doctors, Nurses and any useful means to avoid further disasters! Become more disciplined and care for the Environment too. Lastly: Education and Training for all to be able to tackle these disasters. Let us work collectively together and NOT opt for a fistful of Dollars to restart the already collapsed global economy… which is in red US$ 270 (twohundredandseventy) trillion…
