DNV GL’s Maritime Academy Hellas is offering on 11 December 2020 (10:00-14:00) a course designed as a response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Course’s aim is to help those involved in the management of office and vessel personnel to understand how to best support and empower their people in maintaining a positive moral and smooth operation during this challenging time.

Participants will be familiarized with the ways in which pandemic-induced stress can affect people’s performance.  With insights from the field of neuropsychology, it will be explained and presented how this stress can best be managed. The individual dimensions of well-being (physical, mental/emotional and social) will be discussed, along with specific practices that can be applied in order to cultivate lucidity, equanimity and well-being during this crisis.

Emphasis will be given on:

  • The stress mechanism and how it can be triggered during the Covid-19 pandemic affecting performance and behaviour
  • The dynamic relation between mental health, physical health and social health 
  • Tools & Practices we can adopt and share with others so as to maintain the smooth running of operations during this challenging time

Equipment required:

This course will be conducted online, therefore an internet connection is required. Interaction between the trainer and participants will be encouraged. 

Make sure you connect through a PC or a laptop with sufficient screen size. A connected camera, a microphone or an audio headset during the course will enhance the

quality of raining.
