Dear Members & Friends,

I don’t think anyone will be particularly upset when I say that I can’t wait for 2020 to be written off and that 2021 will be as close to normal as it possibly can. Speaking of which, the 1^st of January is the start of the so-called “new normal”.  The European Union without the United Kingdom. For those who still have questions about Brexit and what needs to be done for businesses and individuals please sign up for two webinars this week:

1. The Embassy has an online meeting TODAY the 2^nd December where questions regarding the EU Settlement Scheme will be answered.
2. Brexinar (my new word for a Brexit webinar) tomorrow Thursday 3^rd December. Ambassadors Richard Wood and Wegger Chr. Strømmen will be giving updates and Romy Rawlings, UK Commercial Director at NBCC member Vestre AS will briefly be talking about how they got the business ready for Brexit.

Although Brexit and Covid-19 issues will cast shadows for a few more months we are planning ahead with the assumption that proper events will be back on the agenda from May or June.

The 2021 events programme will be insightful, relevant and current and you can find a more detailed plan here. We’re currently planning the programme for Team Norway’s Opportunities 2021 on the 15^th and 16^th of June in British Museum. Opportunities 2021 will also be held in Aberdeen approximately the week before.

NBCC’s Strategy Plan 2021-2024 is finished and you can download the PDF version here. Also worth mentioning is our very own Cultural Awareness Programme developed together with Norges Handelshøyskole (NHH) because ‘a need of more knowledge’ was clearly expressed by some of our Partners.

For those going «home» to Norway on a well-deserved Christmas and New Year break, do make sure you’re up to date on necessary travel information. You don’t want to be stranded in a quarantine hotel for 10 days unless you have to!
