Sunday is World Environment Day – here’s an IMCA podcast to listen to!

Can I urge you to listen to this very short podcast https://www.imca-int.com/podcast-on-imcas-recommended-code-of-practice-on-environmental-sustainability/ explaining the “whys and wherefores” of the International Marine Contractors Association’s (IMCA) newly published ‘Recommended Code of Practice on Environmental Sustainability’.
Before handing over to her two guests – Peter de Bree and Nadine Robinson – Andrea Burnley explained that, when surveyed, four out of five IMCA members (there are over 700 member companies in 60 countries) felt environmental sustainability and the energy transition were critical, or very important, to IMCA’s strategy. A similar number noted their clients were increasingly using environmental sustainability criteria in evaluating contractors and suppliers.
Peter, who chairs IMCA’s Environmental Sustainability Committee and is Heerema Marine Contractors’ Director of Strategy and Technology, backed this up explaining: “Environment and climate change are front and centre for many industries and in most geographies. This is particularly true of our sector – the offshore marine contracting industry.”
Nadine, IMCA’s Environmental Adviser explains why IMCA decided to produce the ‘Recommended Code of Practice on Environmental Sustainability’ developed by members for members over the past seven months…. what was the driving force behind the Code? How did it come about?
Enjoy listening!
