Media Handling Awareness course – Live Virtual Classroom

DNV’s Maritime Academy Hellas is offering on 20 July 2021, a half-day course intended to give guidance and important information on how to communicate efficiently with the press before, during and after emergencies.
This module was developed by Mrs Katerina Skourtanioti, Head of Strategic Communication and Crisis Safety Solution at VenLyS (Reputation and Safety Solution services for the Maritime and Oil & Gas industries, www.venlys.com).
Aim / Course Objective: Raise awareness and give guidance on how to communicate efficiently with the press before, during and after emergencies.
Target Group: All in shipping companies
Emphasis will be given on:
- Basic principles of media management;
- How the media operates. Understanding the media’s attitude and perspective towards the industry;
- The cost of losing trust;
- Handling the crisis. Rules and valuable information;
- Ambush. What do you say?
- A good press release;
- Crisis communications and social media
