DNV’s Maritime Academy SURVEYS AND CERTIFICATES course
DNV’s Maritime Academy Hellas is offering on 17 February 2022, a course on Surveys and Certificates. This module introduces the legal framework on ship inspections and surveys as well as the issuance of certificates. Distinctions are made between the requirements of the classification societies and the requirements of the flag states. The various survey types, their intervals and time periods are explained, and contents and validity of the required certificates are looked at in detail.
In addition, the course also covers the planning, preparation and conduct of inspections and surveys on board. A brief explanation of how to work with the portal “My DNV GL” is provided and also the database Equasis. Case studies are used to give the participants the chance to apply what they have learnt when dealing rules and regulations as well as how to plan surveys.
Course Objective
To enable participants to coordinate surveys efficiently, having a better background knowledge about required certificates.
Emphasis will be given on:
· Presentation of classification and statutory regulations
- Introduction of certificates
- Planning, preparation and conduct of inspections and surveys
