Anchor Partner Spotlight
SHIPPINGInsight is thrilled to welcome ABS as a Platinum Partner!
ABS is committed to setting standards for safety and excellence as one of the world’s leading classification organizations.

For partnership and exhibiting information, please contact Rebecca Tribelli at r.tribelli@shippinginsight.com

This past week was the Connecticut Maritime Association’s annual Shipping Conference which was held in person.  Featuring the topics of the day, there was a sense of relief that we were gathering in person and “near normal”.  While not the heady days of pre-COVID, we were happy to be reunited with old friends and making new ones!

Woven through the topics of decarbonization and digitalization were the benefits—nay necessity—of validation, or ASSURANCE.  ABS included this feature in its pre-conference seminar on “Advancing your Maritime Sustainability Strategy”.  This element is critical as we move more towards transparency of operations and reporting.  We are soon approaching the EEXI and CII requirements coming in 2023, not to mention recent policy changes with Ballast Water.  Digitalization will support HOW we get there.  And get there we must!

Global society is pushing suppliers and governments towards goals that we must achieve.  Not only do we need to be open with our information, but it needs to be credible—audited, examined and assured.  Every day a new platform or guidepost is launched—and we need to be ready to claim our position as global leaders of change and improvement.

Keep Optimizing,
Carleen
