Interest rates on new loans post strong monthly increase in Aug-22, yet remain lower than a year ago; new loan disbursements in Jan-22–Aug-22 almost double than those in the respective period in 2021.
CESEE
The current account deficit in Cyprus widened on an annual basis in Q2 2022, mainly because of the widening of the trade of goods deficit and, to a lesser extent, due to the increase of the primary income deficit.
