The Baltic Exchange is delighted to host the next Dry Cargo Forum and Dinner in Geneva on 10 November 2022, which will be supported by the FFA Brokers Association. Market participants are invited to register for an afternoon of in-depth topical discussion and insight covering major developments impacting physical and forward freight markets. Set against the volatile pricing seen across commodity markets this year, our keynote presentations will delve into the outlook for freight markets with further discussion and Q&A on carbon market ETS for shipping, the global shift in cargo flows set against the backdrop of the Ukraine crisis. We’ll also focus on how increased market transparency and Baltic tools are evolving to provide more accessible price management and growth in FFA market liquidity.

Mark Jackson, Chief Executive Officer, Baltic Exchange Mark Jackson was appointed Chief Executive of the Baltic Exchange in 2017. He has over 40 years’ shipping experience and 20 years trading FFAs. After 18 years working as a shipbroker, he joined Greek Owner A.M. Nomikos in 1998. Mark joined the board of the Baltic in 2004 and was Chairman 2009-2012. |
John Banaszkiewicz, Founder, Freight Investor Services and Baltic Exchange FFABA Dry Chair John co-founded FIS in 2002. He previously spent 11 years at Cargill in a variety of roles. John’s determination and diligence in building liquidity was instrumental in the creation of the multi-billion dollar FFA and Iron Ore Futures markets. |
David Watts, VP Business Development and Partnerships, The Signal Group David has 35 years’ experience in the commodity and financial markets. His experience ranges from physical trading of precious metals, brokerage services, 21 years in leadership roles at Reuters, and GM at ICE of their Commodity, Energy, Equity and FX desktop services. After a stint at Pole Star as Global Commercial Manager, he joined The Signal Group. |
James Voyle, Carbon Solutions – Affinity  James works on Affinity’s FCA regulated carbon desk, advising shipowners and charterers on how to manage shipping’s entry into the EU-ETS. He also leads consultancy projects for owners and utilities focussing on the environmental benefits of LNG as a marine fuel, and the impact of carbon regulation on the future of shipping and trade. |

Martin Crawford-Brunt; Emissions Lead – Baltic Exchange Martin has a passion for advancing sustainability, social and safety outcomes in maritime which improves global prosperity without harm to people/the planet. Martin founded Lookout Maritime in 2021 after his role as CEO of RightShip. He brings more than 25 years of practical experience from a variety of roles in the maritime industry and supply chain landscape. |
