LONDON: 16 November, 2022: The organizers of the London International Shipping Week (LISW) are excited to announce the involvement of the French International Register (RIF) as sponsors of this international event, due to be held on Thursday September 14th, next year.

This is a double first for LISW as it is the first time France will participate, and the first time that the French Flag (RIF) will be in the spotlight in this world-leading week-long maritime event.

Welcoming RIF’s involvement in the week, Mr Eric BANEL, General Director of the General Directorate for Maritime Affairs, Fishing and Aquaculture (DGAMPA) at the French Ministry for Sea, said: “The 10th edition of the LISW will be the inescapable event in 2023 for all those involved in shipping. This high-level meeting will take place at a key moment for this sector: the energy transition has to be successful without neglecting the issues of maritime security and global economic competition.

“France is determined to take part in this challenge,” he added. “To do this, the French International Register (RIF) is the competitive and qualitative solution for ships exposed to world competition. This registry meets the shipping players’ needs when it comes to tax, social and reputational benefits, with a personal administrative accompaniment,” he concluded.
The RIF is the free and single service for the registration of vessels, maritime mortgages and crewmembers. “During the LISW23, make the difference: fly the French flag !”.

Welcoming RIF’s involvement with LISW, Llewellyn Bankes-Hughes, Director of Shipping Innovation and co-founder of LISW, said: “We are delighted that our friends from the French flag at the RIF will be part of what will be a tremendous LISW23. The venue we have chosen, which will be announced shortly, will make the event an amazing evening to remember.”

Between September 11-15, next year, the UK will play host to the global maritime world, with hundreds of events attracting thousands of international industry decision makers into London.
