Do you have what it takes to promote the UK as an attractive jurisdiction for shipping companies?
The UK Chamber of Shipping has exclusively retained Spinnaker to hire a Policy Director to lead the chamber, and policy team for all national, and global issues relating to commercial regulations and tax.
As the trade association, and voice of the UK shipping industry, you’ll join an organisation working with Government, Parliament, international organisations, and others to champion and protect the UK shipping industry on behalf of their members.
While the chamber advises on many technical matters related to shipping, you’ll be using your understanding of the commercial principles, and how a shipping company operates as a business.
- Reporting to the Director of Policy, you will be an ambassador for the association.
- Being the expert on UK tonnage tax, you will advise members on the principles of ship financing and leasing arrangements and be responsible for the Chamber Tax and Economics committee.
- With oversight for passenger sector activity (Ferry and Cruise) you will be focussing on shipping regulation, and national legislation in this area, within the chamber.
- Developing contacts within Government, the EU, and the IMO will be crucial to your role ensuring that the chamber is well represented, and its message received.
This is a permanent position, based in London.
The UKCS offices are located at 30 Park Street, London, SE1 9EQ.
Having current, and existing entitlement to live, and work in the United Kingdom is a requirement.
