The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day campaign is “Embrace Equity”. It is of vital importance for all of us to comprehend that equality is not enough. Equity does not mean sameness, it means fairness.
It means ensuring that everyone is given access to the same opportunities. And in order to achieve this, we need to understand the difficulties each person faces and to create solutions that will allow everyone to obtain a better future. Embracing uniqueness will help us come closer to the creation of a society of truly equal opportunities, based on fair treatment and inclusion. We owe it to ourselves – we owe it to the future generations.
