Digitalisation of International Trade

Introduction
The market has produced – and continues to produce – a number of platforms through which the paper processes of international trade can be digitalised.  The Electronic Trade Documents Bill, currently making rapid headway through Parliament, promises to provide a legal matrix for those technological advances.

This seminar will address the following  areas:
– The complex interplay of points of view with respect to the different actors in digitalised Bills of Lading
– Products on the market
– The Electronic Trade Documents Bill – a solution larger than the problem?
– Digitalisation beyond the Bill of Lading

Chairman: The Hon. Sir Bernard Eder – Arbitrator

Among the speakers will be:
Charles Debattista and Francis Hornyold-Strickland, both barristers at 36 Stone within the 36 Group, and co-authors of Debattista on Bills of Lading in Commodity Trades (2021); and
Matthew Wilmshurst – Partner, HFW
Richard Watts – HR Maritime (Geneva)
