EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS & CRISIS MANAGEMENT


In emergencies it is crucial that the right decisions are taken. This workshop introduces methods which allow controlled decision-making under the conditions of great stress in accordance with IMO Res. A. 1072 (28). The principles of crisis management are imparted and discussed in case studies and role plays. In particular the influence of the human element of emergency situations is addressed.

Objectives:

To familiarize the participants with methods which allow controlled decision-making under stressful conditions.
To improve a company’s emergency preparedness and ability to manage crisis or emergency situations.

·        Contingency planning and preparation 

·        Shore-based emergency response

·        Emergency Response Services

·        Training, drills and exercises

·        Teamwork under extreme conditions

·        Crisis follow-up

Entry requirements: Basic knowledge of contingency planning in shipping is recommended. 

Duration: 2 days (10:00-14:00)

Who should attend:  Shipping Companies: Superintendents, fleet managers, CSO, designated persons, nautical officers, engineers
