In light of the recent catastrophic floods that have ravaged parts of central Greece, causing devastation to homes, infrastructure, and the livelihoods of countless individuals, the Executive Committee of the Hellenic Bankers Association has made a decision that reflects our commitment to solidarity and the welfare of the Greeks.
Every autumn, HBA organises a series of networking and panel discussion events in London, however this year, recognising the urgency of the situation in Greece, we have chosen not to host our usual early autumn event. Instead, we will be donating the funds earmarked for this event (2500€) to aid the victims of the floods. These funds will be channelled towards relief efforts in support of the affected communities.
Our Annual Christmas Gala, scheduled for December 2023, will proceed as planned, with communication following soon. We hope that this event will not only be a celebration of the festive season, but also an opportunity for our community to come together and further support the relief efforts in Greece.
We would urge all of our members, colleagues, partners, and the wider community to join us in this initiative. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of those affected.
