We are delighted to invite you to the upcoming SNAME Technical Presentation on Thursday the 29th of February, 2024, where we are pleased to welcome:
Mr Kostas Gatsos, Technical Manager
who will make a presentation on Extraordinary Damages in Ship Equipment; A flashback in memorable “events” of last 25 years
SHORT INTRODUCTION 

This presentation promises a captivating journey through the heart of ship equipment challenges that an experienced Technical Manager has encountered in 25 years of career. Over these years encountered a myriad of events and damages that have provided invaluable lessons. 

These tales of damages to deck equipment, ship’s structure, propulsion machinery, and auxiliary machineries will surely stir memories of similar situations for many. Each challenge has been a source of learning, shaping our understanding of the intricacies of ship’s equipment. The core mission of the presentation is to disseminate the knowledge gained and ac as dowry to the next generation of maritime professionals in order to elevate the industry, ensuring a legacy of wisdom and resilience.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER 

Mr Konstantinos Gatsos is a Mechanical Engineer by Academic qualification with a Masters degree from the University of Liverpool.

In these 29+ years in Shipping, Kostas has worked in three shipping companies and one repair workshop.
Kostas started in the workshop before he joined Carras (Hellas) as an NB site team member for a project in Korea. The next step was the position of Junior and then Senior Superintendent in Primebulk & Chemnav Shipmanagement (ex Primera Maritime) for 17 years. For the last 10 years, Kostas works as a Technical Manager of SeaTribute Shipmanagement (ex Blossom Maritime).
