Fincantieri and Crystal have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to build two state-of-the-art, high-end cruise ships, with an option for a third ship. Each ship will have a gross tonnage of 61,800 and will accommodate approximately 690 passengers in all-suite accommodations with private verandas and a popular single-occupancy category designed for single travellers. The interiors will be designed by renowned international architectural firms using the finest materials and craftsmanship. This commitment to comfort is complemented by one of the highest crew-to-passenger ratios in the segment, ensuring personalised service and meticulous attention to detail.
The value of the contract, which is subject to financing and other conditions, is estimated to be significant. Delivery of the first ship is scheduled for spring 2028, with further details on the second ship to be announced in due course. The collaboration between Fincantieri and Crystal represents a strong commitment to luxury and innovation in the cruise industry, promising a superior travel experience for guests.
Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and Managing Director of Fincantieri, commented: “This order not only highlights the robust recovery of the cruise sector, in line with our Industrial Plan, but also reaffirms Fincantieri’s leadership, thanks to the operational excellence of our shipyards and the execution quality of our world-class supply chain. We are thrilled to partner with Crystal in our pursuit of innovation and excellence, under the guidance of a shipowner who has always been close to our Group, like Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio.”
