AAG 2024 kicks off this week, driving the automotive industry in the Greater Bay Area towards an innovative future

Guangzhou, 27 August 2024. Auto Aftermarket Guangzhou (AAG) 2024 will take place at the Poly World Trade Expo Center (PWTC Expo) in Guangzhou from 28 to 30 August. Rooted in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Greater Bay Area), AAG has firmly established itself as an annual event for South China’s automotive aftermarket industry, converging global industry peers to explore the market opportunities.

This edition of AAG will span across an exhibition area of over 70,000 sqm (an increase of 40 percent from the previous edition) in six halls, attracting 1,600 exhibitors. This participation represents an increase of 55 percent from last edition. A variety of displays areas are set to present cutting-edge technological achievements and product solutions covering parts and components, oils, lubricants and fuels, accessories, customising, driving services, tyres and wheels, as well as diagnosis and repair. Elsewhere, 30 concurrent activities will delve into plans for the future development of the automotive aftermarket.

Ms Li Zhang, General Manager of China National Machinery Industry International Co Ltd (SINOMACHINT), said: “Looking back, the automotive industry, a cornerstone of the national economy, has undergone unprecedented changes and developments. In 2024, the global automotive industry is continuing to see rapid transformations in areas of electrification, intelligence, connectivity, and sharing. As an important extension and pillar of the automotive industry, its aftermarket has likewise encountered growth opportunities.”

As one of the six major automotive manufacturing hubs in China, the Greater Bay Area is uniquely positioned to accelerate the transformation and upgrade of the aftermarket industry. Bolstered by its solid foundation in automotive manufacturing and strategic geographic advantages, the region can progress the aftermarket to meet the changing needs of the sector. Since its establishment in 2015, AAG embraces the notion of innovation and mutually beneficial collaboration, establishing a professional international platform for product showcasing, information exchange, and cooperation.

Located in Halls 1, 3, 5 and 6, Parts & Components sector covers a total exhibition area of 40,000 sqm. These halls will present new technologies in drive systems, innovations and breakthroughs in chassis design, body work, and high-precision processes in standard parts manufacturing.

Farada Group will debut an ultra-low conductivity liquid cooling plate, all-aluminium and aluminium plastic radiators, as well as other thermal management systems; Fuxin Dare will bring pumps and electric pumps, electric motors, electronic controls, ADAS, and hydraulic retarders; GSP will demonstrate their power transmission range of core parts such as precision transmission shafts and high-efficiency ball cages; Huirun will present sensor technologies such as fuel pump systems and high-precision oxygen sensors; Huaxin will come with key transmission parts including clutches, clutch assemblies, and high-performance drive plates; Jinjia will exhibit products such as automotive fuel pumps and assemblies; CGP (Wuhu) will showcase engine seals and comprehensive repair kits; ADD Industry will bring chassis systems and technologies such as shock absorbers, strut mounts, and suspensions.

Notably, the Wear Parts zone (Hall 3) will display products that frequently wear like brake pads and engine parts, aiming to address pain points amongst drivers, while also improving vehicle maintenance, efficiency and safety. The Commercial Vehicles zone (Hall 5) will keep up with market trends and respond actively to the urgent demand for high-quality parts and services in the commercial vehicle segment. Leading brands in the industry will exhibit to cover engine parts, special-purpose repair kits, and customised solutions to promote the prosperous development of the commercial vehicle aftermarket.

Elsewhere in Halls 2 and 4, Accessories & Customising and Driving Services sectors will house well-known brands showcasing automotive lifestyle and vehicle modification. These sectors not only focus on the customisation of interiors and exteriors, but also offer an array of innovative vehicle accessories to meet consumer needs of personalisation.

For instance, All-Top will introduce its iconic aluminium roof tent and a range of vehicle accessories; Haomu specialises in grille products; Jiabeir focuses on customised seats and vehicle interiors, Kewei will present its highly protective car wraps;and, Intra Brands is set to showcase Goodyear’s new lubricant and battery products.

During the three-day event, 30 concurrent activities will explore the latest industry information and provide opportunities for in-depth communication. Highlights include:

  • Guangzhou International New Energy Aftermarket Development Conference 2024 (28 August)
    With the rapid growth of the new energy vehicle market, transforming and upgrading aftermarket services have become a key focus for the industry. The conference will explore cutting-edge topics such as innovations in new energy vehicle repair technology, the transformation and upgrading of traditional auto parts channels, and more. Participants can gain insights into future trends within the new energy aftermarket and green aftermarket services.
  • Auto Parts Overseas Market Expansion Summit 2024 (29 August)
    The Summit will bring together experts from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China EV100, carmakers, international certification bodies, top executives, and technical experts from leading auto parts companies. Topics will revolve around strategies for expanding into overseas markets, overcoming international trade barriers, integrating cultural differences, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

In addition, the 16th China (Guangzhou) Automotive Parts Forum is set to delve into the development of new energy vehicles, smart mobility and autonomous driving. Activities such as the Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket (Southern China) Development Forum 2024, and the China Automotive Aftermarket going Global Summit will also examine the latest market development.

As a special highlight, UTSalon (Booth 2D77) will also host the one-of-a-kind Visual Feast of Posture VS ICE Braking for customising and modifications. This activity prepares to feature vehicle modifications through a series of presentations, providing a thought-provoking opportunity to exchange ideas.

AAG will welcome 32 buyer groups from countries and regions including Central Asia, China, Hong Kong, Macau, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and more. In addition, players from Australia, Germany, France, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, the Philippines, South Korea, Turkey, and Vietnam have also been invited to the show. Domestic invitations cover multiple provinces and municipalities including Anhui, Beijing, Chongqing, Guangdong, Hebei, Henan, Hubei, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Shandong, Shanghai, Sichuan, Tianjin, and Zhejiang, with an aim of gathering nationwide coverage of visitors.
