The Port of Rønne plays a central role in the green transition in the Baltic Sea and functions as an important part of the infrastructure between Bornholm, the rest of Denmark and abroad.

In recent years, the port has further consolidated its position as Bornholm’s central supply port. The port also serves as the region’s most important shipping port for wind turbines and a hub for cruise tourism in the Baltic Sea.

“The Port of Rønne is a key player in the Danish port sector and a role model when it comes to green transition and development of the port sector in the Baltic Sea. Through his work as CEO of the Port of Rønne, Lars has managed to make the port a vital part of Bornholm’s economy and infrastructure. As a result, the port has not only become an important factor for security of supply on Bornholm, but also a growth engine for the island’s many companies. We are very pleased to welcome Lars Nordahl to the board of directors of Danske Havne, and we look forward to benefiting from his experience and vision in the work of developing and strengthening the Danish commercial ports,” says Tine Kirk, CEO of Danske Havne.

Danish Ports is the trade association for Danish commercial ports. The organization works to highlight the importance of ports for green transition, local development and economic growth.
