The regulation offers ship operators multiple compliance strategies for meeting targets to reduce the GHG intensity of energy on ships in scope. The DNV case study analyzes the results of simulations for an 80,000-DWT bulk carrier, following distinct fuel, operational, and design pathways. It shows how different approaches impact expenses and compliance in the period 2025 to 2044.
