The course covers the following topics and is relevant for all ship types, with an emphasis on oil tankers, bulk carriers and container ships:
- Naming of ship structures
- Hull strength and Hull structure failure mode
- Coating and coating failure
- Planning and preparation before and inspection (Safety issues/Hull damage/Reporting)
Objectives: To gain understanding on the proper assessment of hull inspection.
Audience: Technical directors/Managers of shipping companies. Ship yards. Superintendents. Designers. Consultants. Any ship or shore personnel carrying out tank inspections on a regular basis
